Artist Statement

Vivid texture, a warm lush palette and an intuitive approach all meld together to create paintings I call abstract with order. My appreciation for texture steered me toward creating paintings you can almost feel with your eyes. Some surfaces achieve this depth by glazing numerous layers of paint while other surfaces obtain their texture by mixing in sand from the beach or by using molding paste throughout the glazing process.

The word natural best describes the palette I'm inspired by. Earthy browns, golden hues and muddy reds are colors I find very soothing, very tranquil and enjoy surrounding myself with.

It is important for me to create art that does not exclude but rather welcomes the observer. No chaos... just a restful place rich with texture and color upon which to cast your eyes.
