ORDERING & POLICIES:
- Ordering Artwork
Kathleen McMahon Fine Art accepts VISA, Mastercard, American Express and
Discover, debit cards, personal or company checks, and cash as payment. All
online sales are handled via our PayPal account (you do not need to have a
PayPal account in order to purchase online with a credit card). Offline credit
credit card sales are also processed via PayPal, but customers can use a
local personal check or cash to buy a painting within the gallery or from
the online gallery selection if they choose to in person at the gallery. A
customer wanting to pay online but mail us a check would need to call us to
process the sale manually. We would need to wait until the check clears before
shipping the painting.

- Returns
For items that have been purchased online, we provide a forty-eight (48) hour approval
period. Upon receipt of your art, please inspect thoroughly and notify us immediately if
there is any damage. If you receive an item and are not satisfied, notify us within the
forty-eight (48) hour approval period and ship back (you will be responsible for shipping
and insurance charges). Upon receipt of items and insuring that they are in their original
condition, we will credit your account (minus any unrecoverable fees we've paid, i.e. paypal
fees, etc.). If you wish to return an item after the 48 hour approval period, we will give
you a gallery credit equal to the amount of your original purchase, minus any unrecoverable
fees. No returns after 7 days.
For items purchased in person within the gallery, given you have inspected the piece in person
and found it to be in good condition, we do not provide a return refund policy on purchased
items. However, if you have received and taken home an item and for some reason are not
satisfied, notify us within the forty-eight (48) period and bring the work back in the same
condition it was taken from the gallery originally. Upon receipt of item(s) and insuring that
they are in their original condition, we will give you a Gallery credit equal to the amount of
your original purchase minus any unrecoverable fees we have already paid out (i.e. paypal fees, etc).
No returns or credits after 48 hours.
- Visual Approval Program
In working with good clients and interior designers, it is sometimes necessary to see
how the art looks in its intended environment before making a purchase. Kathleen McMahon
Fine Art offers a 24-hour "Visual Approval" service that allows you take home or have
shipped to you a piece of art and you can approve the purchase upon visually seeing the
art in its intended environment. With "Visual Approval", we basically charge you for 50%
of the selling price plus shipping (on a credit card) and then refund monies (minus any
other unrecoverable fees we incurred) should you decide to return the piece. The Gallery
reserves the right to determine the credit card is valid and request additional matching
ID before releasing the artwork. With the "Visual Approval" Program, you are responsible for
shipping and insurance charges (should the piece need to be shipped to you) to your location
as well as shipping it back to us should you decide not to proceed with the purchase (and you
MUST ensure it arrives in its original condition in order to make sure you are not charged
for this piece). If you decide you would like to keep the artwork, the Gallery will then
proceed with charging the remainder due on a credit or debit card.
- Shipping
We will do our best to approximate shipping charges but the final amount may be adjusted
once the actual shipping charges have been determined and charged to us. Charges are based on
shipping, handling, and insurance charges via the United States Postal Service, UPS, Federal
Express, or Freight, depending upon which is the best service to deliver the piece you've
selected. Special shipping requests are entertained. Shipping charges will be included in your
total.
- Tax
8.5% sales tax will be added to all orders shipped within the state of California.
- Partial Payment Plan
We want to accomodate you in any way we can. Our layaway policy follows: A deposit of twenty-five
percent (25%) is required. If you wish to cancel your layaway, you will receive a full refund of
your deposit if notified within ten (10) days of the original layaway. If you cancel after the ten
(10) day period, you will forfeit your payments. Term of layaway will be an initial 25% payment
and then 3 additional monthly payments. A monthly payment is required to maintain each layaway.
Monthly payments not received when due accrue interest at a rate of 5% per thirty (30) days. If
payment is not received within 90 days the deposit and any payment made will be forfeited and
will not be refunded. Cost of packaging, shipping and insurance will be added to the cost of the
artwork, which will be shipped once the final payment has been received.
- Non-Credit Card Orders
We accept cash, and checks made out to: Kathleen McMahon as payment. PayPal is a completely
world-recognized secured system for online credit cards but if you just aren't comfortable with
submitting your credit card information over the internet, we can accept your order over the phone,
